Abstract

The University of Minnesota's Center for Urban and Regional Affairs' Community Assistantship Program supported University of Minnesota-Morris student Shaolei Jin to assist in the creation of this plan.

Description

The Friends of Norris Camp, MN Department of Natural Resources and local community (of which there remains a core of families once relocated from the Norris Camp area) has a pride and desire to share the many stories of Norris Camp and the surrounding area. The purpose of this plan is to guide the creation of an interpretive center to fulfill the desire to share these stories through a hands-on, memory-creating educational process. The desire is to directly expose visitors, whether on-site or through a virtual and remote technology, to the beauty and solitude of the area as well as its history.
