partisan and expensive. Some fear that Minnesota’s courts are in danger of becoming a battleground of big-money campaign contributors and partisan operatives. To head off this possibility, reformers have proposed to change the process of electing judges in Minnesota to maintain an impartial judiciary. Leading experts and observers of Minnesota judicial elections assessed the risk of partisan elections and whether reform is justified. Panelists included Gary Borgendale, local ministry director for AM980 KKMS radio, Eric Magnuson, former Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, Sarah Walker, Chief Operating Officer at 180 Degrees, Inc., and Greg Wersal, attorney in private practice. The event was moderated by Professor Larry Jacobs.
