Abstract

Crystal growth and MPMS characterization of single-layer HgBa2CuO4+δ were carried out. The effects of several parameters in the growth on the sample quality were studied. The result shows an improvement of crystal quality with longer reaction time but the effect of varying the amount of HgO needs further exploration.
