Abstract

This report contains findings of the Peat Derivatives Project, sponsored by the Greater Minnesota Corporation, on the potential development of commercial humic acid products from Minnesota peats. The report provides a basis from which the Natural Resources Research Institute's (NRRI's), Peat Program can plan future research and product development for commercial uses of humic acids derived from Minnesota peats. Burnie acids typically comprise 25-50 percent of the dry weight of peat. The report identifies several areas that have a high likelihood of product development success.
