Abstract

This project was completed as part of the 2015-2016 Resilient Communities Project (rcp.umn.edu) partnership with Carver County. The Andrew Peterson Farmstead, located near the city of Waconia, is a site with great historic significance. The Carver County Historical Society (CCHS) was in the process of restoring a number of historic buildings on the Peterson Farm. The goal of this project was to help inform ongoing restoration and preservation efforts at the farmstead. In partnership with CCHS project lead Wendy Petersen-Biorn, students in ARCH 5672: Historic Building Conservation, assessed the condition of five structures on the farm and offered restoration and preservation recommendations for each of the structures. The students' final report and poster are available.
