Abstract

Addressing climate change requires forward thinking to maintain healthy forests. In this work, the impact of simulated seasonal drought and warming on forests in northern Minnesota were measured. This work suggests that late-season drought has a disproportionately large impact on the shoot growth of selected tree species than early season drought. This work further suggests that an increase in the growing season caused by artificial warming of selected species does not yield an increase in shoot length when compared to species grown under ambient conditions.
