Abstract
This 1:1,000,000 map of Ross Ice Shelf is part of a six-map series developed by Michael Clementz, a Graduate Research Assistant at the Polar Geospatial Center (PGC). These maps are the United States Antarctic Program's contribution to a collaborative international project to produce air operations planning maps with coverage of priority areas in Antarctica. The objective was to provide standardized maps for science and operations planning. The maps replaced smaller, out of date maps that lacked current and accurate datasets. The map series in its entirety shows that international collaboration can produce an important operational resource for the Antarctic Community that extends beyond the scope of each individual organization. This map was created using Esri ArcMap and the size of the printed map document is 43” x 30”.
