The impact evaluation study was with community participants who are considered high risk in the financial education field. If financial education can be effective for this population, it will be effective with groups that have fewer problems and tend to seek solutions to their financial problems. This study was conducted during a time when the economic environment was difficult for many people including those who participated in the study. Dollar Works 2 is a personal financial education program developed by the University of Minnesota Extension.Item Open Doors with Higher Education Program Evaluation, 2015-2016(University of Minnesota Extension, Center for Family Development, 2016) Olson, KathleenPartnering for School Success (PSS) is a family education program for immigrant Latino parents or care-givers of children in high school. The Children, Youth and Families at Risk (CYFAR) program is a partnership between University of Minnesota Extension (Extension), Triton School (in Dodge Center, DGC), and Faribault Schools FRB. This program focuses on two of the major factors related to academic achievement for Latino students – family and school environments. CYFAR PSS includes three interrelated components of 1) Family strengthening education, 2) Family school partnership, and 3) Latino school navigators who act as a liaison between parents and schools. As part of the family strengthening education, Extension has implemented the Open Doors with Higher Education program (Abriendo puertas con educación superior in Spanish), referred to as Open Doors in this report, during winter 2015 and spring 2016. This evaluation report summarizes the Open Doors trainings provided to the Latino families enrolled in the program.Item Recovery after Disaster: The Family Financial Toolkit An Evaluation of its Efficacy(University of Minnesota Extension, Center for Family Development, 2013-04) Scharmer, Lori; Croymans, SaraNorth Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension Service and University of Minnesota Extension have developed a guide to help families recover financially from a natural disaster: The guide is entitled "Recovery after Disaster: The Family Financial Toolkit." This report summarizes the results of an evaluation of the efficacy of the toolkit after its use by North Dakota families affected by floods in summer 2011.
