Three Essays on Consumer Strategic Behavior: The Cases of Private and Public Goods
    (2021-06) Kong, Xiangwen
Analysis of decision-making, whether the process of making business or individual decisions, rely on the basis of the economic framework. This dissertation focuses on theoretical modelling and empirical analysis of people’s behavior related to three economic issues., i.e., food retailing, public goods provision and water conservation policy. Specifically, the second chapter focuses on a theoretical modelling framework by introducing the online channel as a tool for price discrimination, the third chapter focuses on modelling of public good contribution that is impacted by the decision probability of others, inequity aversion, and the bounded rationality. The last chapter investigates homeowners’ intertemporal decision-making process related to water restrictions.
