Item Black Spruce Diameter Growth Model Data(2018-08-28) Anderson, Brian D; Windmuller-Campione, Marcella A; Russell, Matthew B; russellm@umn.edu; Russell, Matthew B; University of Minnesota Silva LabThis data was used in fitting diameter growth models for a historical silviculture study in lowland black spruce. It consists of an initial diameter and second diameter 9-11 years after the initial measurement for 10,231 black spruce trees. Also included are other key individual tree and stand-level variables used in formulating the diameter growth model, and the treatment associated with each tree, plot, and compartment.Item Distribution Maps and Models for 13 Invasive Plants in Minnesota(2019-10-17) Reinhardt, Jason R; Russell, Matthew B; reinh215@umn.edu; Reinhardt, Jason R; University of Minnesota Silva LabThis dataset consists of raster (.tif) and map (.png) files for 13 invasive plants in Minnesota. Species included consist of: common buckthorn, glossy buckthorn, multiflora rose, garlic mustard, Canada thistle, common tansy, leafy spurge, spotted knapweed, wild parsnip, purple loosestrife, Japanese knotweed, narrowleaf bittercress, and plumeless thistle. The rasters (.tif files) included here consist of the output of species distribution modeling (SDM) conducted for each species; these files depict the mean cross-model and cross-assumption distribution estimates for each species, on a scale of 0 to 1. Values near 0 indicate low likelihood of finding the species there, or low habitat suitability, and values near 1 represent a high likelihood of finding the species. Data includes information on seedling survival, growth, and physiological activity for two experiments, one relating to timing of drought onset, the other relating to watering treatment.Item Increasing understanding of floodplain forest dynamics, 2018-2020, Upper Mississippi River(2021-12-03) Reuling, Laura F; Van Appledorn, Molly; Meier, Andrew R; Nielsen, Daniel; Windmuller-Campione, Marcella A; lreuling@umn.edu; Reuling, Laura F; University of Minnesota Silva LabThis forest inventory dataset was collected from 2018-2020 in floodplain forests along the Upper Mississippi River (MN, WI, and IA). It includes tree and species level information on overstory trees, tree regeneration, understory plant communities, and coarse woody debris at twelve study sites (108 total plots). These data were used to understand floodplain forest dynamics and inform forest management for these systems.
