    Analyzing a Complementary Relationship Between Peppers and Beans

    This project analyzed the relationship between pepper and bean plants. Previous research has shown that pepper plants require a high amount of nitrogen to grow, and beans have a unique ability to fix nitrogen from the atmosphere. To test a possible complementary relationship, monocrops of Lady Bell pepper variety were contrasted to polycrops of the peppers with Blue Lake Bush bean plants. Plant heights, stem girths, stalk biomass, and harvest yield of the pepper plants in the two treatments were compared. According to t test results, no differences between the treatment and control groups were detected.
