In 2009, the University of Minnesota Tourism Center, in partnership with Renewing the Countryside, the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture, and the Minnesota Grown program of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture conducted a survey of Minnesota farms to learn about agri-tourism businesses, activities, and opportunities. The information gained from the survey is designed to help the University of Minnesota Tourism Center and its partner organizations provide better educational and marketing opportunities for agri-tourism in Minnesota.Item Profile of 2007 Flint Hills International Children's Festival Attendees(University of Minnesota Tourism Center, 2007) Schuweiler, Andrea; Schneider, Ingrid E.In 2007, the University of Minnesota Tourism Center (UMTC) was contracted to profile visitors to St. Paul Festivals, including the Flint Hills International Children’s Festival. While there are a variety of information sources available for energy conservation, this is the first that provides specific information tailored towards a market such as Minnesota resort tourism. Minnesota’s approximately 900 resorts vary in size and provide a variety of accommodations and recreational opportunities. However, they are similar in that they usually provide nature-based recreational opportunities, especially boating and fishing, are located in secluded areas, feature cabin-like accommodations and are not open during the winter.
