Item Insights into the Submissions to the DCN’s Shared Curation Workflow(Data Curation Network, 2023) Petters, Jon; Narlock, Mikala R.Virginia Tech has been a part of the DCN for a couple of years now – and with two additional curators on our team (Padma Carstens and Brandie Pullen) we are excited to finally take advantage of the shared curation workflow service provided by the DCN. As we considered our procedures for submitting datasets to this shared service, we wondered: What factors are considered by repository staff and curators in deciding whether or not to send a dataset to the DCN for expert curation? Where/when in the data publication workflow are datasets sent to the DCN?Item Summit for Academic Institutional Readiness in Data Sharing (STAIRS) Complete Slide Deck(Data Curation Network, 2024) Narlock, Mikala; Carlson, Jake; Cowles, Wind; Herndon, Joel; Petters, Jon; Kozlowski, Wendy; Delserone, Leslie; Chandramouliswaran, Ishwar; Federer, Lisa; Wham, Briana; Woodbrook, Rachel; Johnston, Lisa; Lafia, Sara; Ivey, Susan; Downey, Moira; Hofelich Mohr, Alicia; Stollar Peters, Catherine; Fernandez, RachelThe complete, main slide deck from the Summit for Academic Institutional Readiness in Data Sharing (STAIRS). Through these semi-structured interviews, several commonalities emerged, including key challenges that will need to be addressed to ensure the long-term reusability of research data as well as the similar mentality many institutions expressed: that they are doing the best they can with what they have. The authors conclude by identifying areas of potential future research as well as practical collaboration opportunities.
