    Asymptomatic patients with H. pylori positivity as shown by endoscopic biopsy and culture would benefit from bacterial eradication through a reduction of future symptomatology. However, because the widely-used H. pylori antibody test is not entirely specific to persistent or current infection, this recommendation cannot be confidently applied to a number of clinical scenarios where H. pylori infectivity is uncertain.
