    Brooklyn Park Athletic Fields Usage

    This project was completed as part of the 2016-2017 Resilient Communities Project (rcp.umn.edu) partnership with the City of Brooklyn Park. Brooklyn Park has a culturally diverse population, and the City recognizes the need to expand access to culturally appropriate athletic field options. The goal of this project was to determine current athletic field use and project future demand for athletic fields. Brooklyn Park project lead Brad Tullberg worked with a team of students in REC 3281: Research and Evaluation in Recreation, Park, and Leisure Studies, to evaluate how athletic fields in Brooklyn Park are currently being used and to estimate future field usage.     Reply to Request for Proposals: Nature-Based Tourism Interactive Map/Kickoff Event

    This project was completed as part of a year-long partnership between Carver County and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). The City of Victoria was interested in leveraging the natural resources in Eastern Carver County to attract tourism to the city and region. The goal of this project was to develop a mock grant proposal to enhance ecotourism in the region. Project lead Ben Landhauser from the City of Victoria collaborated with a team of students in FNRM 5101: Park and Protected Area Tourism, to develop a proposal for a nature-based tourism interactive map and kickoff event.
