Abstract

Invited speaker and Head of the Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Professor James Yoon, will speak on exploring the landscape of Korean nominalizations against the background of unified analyses of lexical and syntactic nominalizations. The major focus of the talk will be to evaluate the feasibility of a syntactic analysis of (productive) lexical nominalizations in Korean, contrasting them with the properties of genuine syntactic nominalizations.
