Abstract

In this 4,575-word essay, I discuss David Grumett's study of the French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin's philosophical theology in his book Teilhard de Chardin: Theology, Humanity and Cosmos. In addition, I delineate the thought of the American Jesuit Walter J. Ong, who knew Teilhard and who never stopped referring to him in his various publications. In this way, I am able to point out certain ways in which Grumett could have strengthened his study.
