The Tourism Management and Development Center was established to help make the University of Minnesota, Duluth responsive to the needs of the larger community, including tourists and tourism-related businesses; to promote scholarly research in the tourism field; and to educate students in management of and technical assistance to businesses that serve tourists.
The Center was established in the School of Business and Economics in April 1984. It may only have lasted a few years; the last directory it appears in is from 1986-1987.
