Therefore, the purpose of this project was to assess differences in individual-level personal, behavioral, and environmental factors, between overweight/obese and lean/normal weight, low-income women living in similar environments. Utilizing Social Cognitive Theory, qualitative (focus groups) and quantitative (taste tests, behavioral survey, 24-hour diet recall) methodologies were developed for this study to gain a broader understanding of the factors influencing health and eating behavior among low-income women.
