In an attempt to create healthier school environments, a public law was put into effect requiring all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to create a School Wellness Policy by the start of the 2006 school year. We have postulated that obesity of students is associated in some way with the quality of the School Wellness Policies as assessed by their comprehensiveness and strength.
