Minnesota 3-D2019-06-052019-06-052006https://hdl.handle.net/11299/203417The goal of this project was to represent potential M3D data analysis capabilities and to provide a reference point for communities to compare M3D data analysis results. The project included all nineteen M3D community partners. An analysis of each partner's commuteshed (where residents of a given area travel to work) and laborshed (where workers in a given area travel from to work) was completed. M3D Worker and Resident Area Characteristic Reports for each community were also generated. A matrix was completed to illustrate commuteshed and laborshed patterns among central city communities (Minneapolis and St. Paul), inner-ring suburbs, and outer-ring suburbs. In general, central city community residents were traveling shorter distances to work, while their workers were coming from farther distances than from the suburban communities. Outer-ring suburbs tended to also have more of their residents commuting less than 1 mile to their jobs than other community types.
