The synagogue file includes the dates that the synagogue was at that location. Cemeteries do not have date ranges because they do not move over time in the same way as synagogues do. Cemeteries were included because they too tell a story of where Jewish community members were living. This project, created by the archivist of the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives in the University of Minnesota Libraries, includes the location information of historic Minnesota synagogues and cemeteries from 1856 to 2020 in an effort to determine where synagogues were located in Minnesota over the years and how many were active at any given time.CC0 Public Domain Dedication (CC0 1.0)http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/synagogueshouses of worshipcemeteriesminnesota historyMinnesota Synagogues and Jewish Cemeteries,1856 to 2020Datasethttps://doi.org/10.13020/yngk-mh80
