In the next three decades, the number of Americans needing long-term care is expected to double, leaving our nation’s long-term care financing system — based largely on Medicaid — in jeopardy. We must act now to ensure today’s seniors and disabled adults receive the best possible care and ensure long-term care is affordable for future generations. While there is a growing consensus that long-term care financing reform should be part of health care reform, there remain underlying questions about next steps towards reform.
