Biochemistry & B.A. ChemistrySediment samples, taken from Isle Royale, were analyzed using elemental analyzer isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA/IRMS). Lignin in the samples were to be analyzed via lignin-phenol analysis, however, this was interrupted due to COVID-19. Results show, via carbon to nitrogen ratio (C:N) and the ratio of carbon 13 to carbon 12, a rough trend in the EA/IRMS data, showing a trend in plant type shifting from C3 plants to C4 plants.enUniversity of Minnesota DuluthUndergraduate Research Opportunities ProgramSwenson College of Science and EngineeringDetermination of Vegetation History from Isle Royale LigninScholarly Text or Essay
