A motion to approve the recommendations at the April 3, 2025 Faculty Senate did not pass.A revised general education framework, the “University of Minnesota Twin Cities Core Curriculum,” is proposed as a replacement for the current Liberal Education Requirements that apply to all undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. The Core Curriculum framework reinforces the value and importance of a liberal education for all students, connects that liberal education to a societally signifi cant focus area that is meaningful to the student and where they examine their focus area through a range of disciplinary lenses, and provides an opportunity for the student to integrate what they have learned in a collaborative project with students from diff erent majors and diff erent colleges.Administrative Document
