Fusarium and Phytophthora represent groups of fungal pathogens commonly associated with root rot of soybean. Little is known regarding their distribution, etiology, and how they may interact in causing root rot on soybean. Additionally, diagnostic tools that allow for rapid and accurate detection of these pathogens are essential for disease management, but need to be developed and validated.
