Advisor: Elizabeth Bye. 1 computer file (PDF); 215 pages.Body-form variations and corresponding pattern dimensions were analyzed for 39 subjects with the aim of informing the development of a body-form based block system. Results indicated that similar body measurements did not produce similar body forms, and that findings from comparing body-form variations to pattern dimensions can provide important suggestions for the creation of a body-form based block system. However, whole block shapes could not be categorized based on the body-form variations analyzed here. Recommendations for specific pattern components, such as front neck drop and shoulder slope are presented.enbody formbody-garment relationshipclothing and textiles researchpatternmakingpattern shapetheoryOne Size Fits All?
