Target audience: Individuals, businesses, and organizations, and institutions that make, distribute, or sell food in Minnesota. Information collected: Purchasing factors, food sources, pricing, demand for Minnesota products, barriers to local sourcing. Survey responses received: 37. Consumer Survey (December 2022 - January 2023). Target audience: Anyone who resides or works in Minnesota and buys food for personal consumption. Information collected: Food expenditure patterns, food sources, preference for local and other product characteristics, familiarity, and affinity towards Minnesota Grown brand. Survey responses received: 820. The data are made available to the public for use in ways to protect respondent anonymity. The producer and supply chain surveys are presented as item-by-item summary reports. The consumer survey data are made available in full. In addition, data tables and figures are prepared for statewide results and Minnesota FarmLink regions.In 2020, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture joined with the University of Minnesota in launching the Statewide Cooperative Partnership for Local and Regional Markets (SCP or the Partnership) with funding from the USDA Federal State Marketing Improvement Program (FSMIP). The Partnership is a group of more than forty organizations that meet quarterly to provide input on the diverse experiences of small- and mid-sized producers, retailers, and consumers across the state. A list of partners can be found on the SCP website.
