The design of a monitoring network consists of defining the number, location and measurement frequency of observation wells. The groundwater monitoring program is known to be an expensive, time consuming and uncertain process. Of significant current interest is the problem of developing a sampling plan which will yield information that meets pre-specified criteria set by a decision maker and satisfies budget constraints.en-USReport
