However, its 100 items may prevent its use in certain contexts and encourage responding with insufficient effort. A short form (BFAS-40) already exists but has several notable flaws. In the current study, we utilized ethnically diverse samples to develop the BFAS-short-balanced (BFAS-SB), a 40-item version of the BFAS with balanced keying across all aspect scales.
