Minnesota 3-D2019-06-052019-06-052006https://hdl.handle.net/11299/203416This project aimed to connect M3D community partners and their commuteshed data (where persons of a given area travel to work) to designated Twin Cities' job centers and employment opportunities. Twin Cities' job centers were mapped and overlayed by a selection of M3D partners' commuteshed patterns to give meaning to the M3D partner commuteshed points on the maps. Buffers of 1, 5, 10 and 20 miles were produced for each community to determine employment opportunities for community residents within given distances. M3D Workplace Area Characteristic reports were produced to identify employment opportunities surrounding the chosen community. The M3D Workplace & Resident Area Characteristic Reports also provide additional information such as average annual earnings, age of job holders and highest employing industries in the job centers closest to the community.
