Dey, Arnab2021-03-042021-03-042020https://hdl.handle.net/11299/218992Report completed by student Arnab Dey, enrolled in IE 5561: Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making, taught by Professor Darin England in Fall 2020.This project was completed as part of a partnership between the City of Victoria and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). The goal of this project was to identify a suitable location for a second fire station in anticipation of future community growth. City of Victoria project lead Chief Andrew Heger collaborated with student Arnab Dey in Professor Darin England’s course, IE 5561: Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making, to conduct a temporal and spatial analysis of service demand and response time, build a machine-learning model, and propose a community-risk model to predict the risk associated with different types of properties in the city. A final student report and presentation PowerPoint are available. A videorecording of the student's final presentation is also available at https://vimeo.com/492287254.enlocal governmentsustainabilityResilient Communities Project, 2020-2021Planning the Future Fire Station in the City of VictoriaPresentation
