All of the compounds had a bromine substitution at the 8 position on tryptanthrin, and different substitutions were made at the 2 and 3 positions. While we believe that the syntheses of these new compounds were successful, we were unable to fully characterize the product without NMR spectra. Because of this, we could not perform a formal test of solubility and form proper conclusions regarding the impact of the new substituents’ effects on the solubility of tryptanthrin.enOrganic SynthesisSwenson College of Science and EngineeringUniversity of Minnesota DuluthUndergraduate Research Opportunities ProgramDepartment of Chemistry and BiochemistrySynthesis of some Tryptanthrin DerivativesReport
