Mapping was conducted at a 1:5000 scale. Field access was accomplished by hiking and canoeing. Field locations were verified using geographic positioning systems set to measure in the Universal Transverse Mercator North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). This project was conducted to create a geologic reconnaissance map for the northern part of Soudan Underground Mine State Park and the Lake Vermilion State Park.
