Lake Waconia is under threat of water quality impairment, primarily because of stormwater runoff from residential and business properties that surround the lake shore. Carver County Water Management Organization (WMO) and the City of Waconia wanted to investigate strategies to reduce pollution from runoff. The goal of this project was to design an educational program geared toward Waconia homeowners and business owners to encourage good water stewardship practices. Carver County WMO project lead Madeline Seveland partnered with students in OLPD 5204: Designing the Adult Education Program, to develop a comprehensive education program and campaign.
