This has, in turn, created greater opportunity for women to be involved in the political arena, an area where women are traditionally excluded from. Despite an increase in avenues of participation, women are still unable to fully participate in political life. Looking specifically at Nakuru county in Kenya, we found multiple reasons for this lack of participation and give recommendations for civil society to partner with women and county governments to address the barriers women face when trying to participate in the political arena in Nakuru county.enNakuruEmpowering Women: A case study of women's participation in political processes in Nakuru countyThesis or Dissertation
