Criminal offenders often have difficulty finding meaningful and gainful employment when released from prison. The goal of this project was to reduce recidivism by identifying strategies to help offenders find purposeful work opportunities. Project lead Rod Franks worked with a team of students in OLPOD 5204: Designing the Adult Education Program, to develop a set of recommendations for the County and local businesses, including employing case managers and trained volunteers, building relationships with selected employers, facilitating job clubs, and providing job skills training.
