Normally, Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and/or Mass Spectrometry (MS) are sufficient. However, these normal methods sometimes fail for a number of reasons. Because of this, more sensitive and selective methods of monitoring reactions were developed. Capillary Electrophoresis coupled with Laser-Induced Fluorescence detection (CE-LIF) is an extremely sensitive technique that can be effectively used to determine the presence of and separate fluorescent compounds. HPLC-LIF-MS is a technique used to first separate compounds on an HPLC column, then to detect and measure only fluorescent peaks with Mass Spectrometry. Because Doxorubicin and its derivatives are fluorescent, these methods can be used efficiently and effectively.en-USChemistryInstitute of TechnologyNovel Methods of Monitoring the Synthesis of N-L-Leucyldoxorubicin: MEKC-LIF and HPLC-LIF-MSPresentation
