Using Juno’s WAVES instrument, we noted wave growth at the O+/S++ band, indicative the presence of heavy ions originating from the Io torus, observed by Juno during the PJ34N and PJ40N events. We additionally observe signatures of cyclotron resonance with H+ and O+. However, a future study is needed to determine the spatial/temporal behavior of this interaction. We plan to use the methodology discussed in this research to examine wave-particle interactions in the Io Torus in the future. We will employ a continuous wavelet transform of Juno’s MAG data with a 8 Hz Nyquist frequency to probe the heavy ion cyclotron frequency in the torus. Our future analysis will help us understand how heavy ions are transported from the equatorial torus to the polar magnetosphere.enWave-Particle Interactions associated with Heavy Ions in Jupiter’s Polar MagnetosphereScholarly Text or Essay
