Using the proportion of Syrians in each governorate, I classify governorates into three categories of “treatment”: low, medium, and high. This treatment variable will be examined against labor market outcomes including labor force participation, unemployment, weekly working hours and wages. The pre" and post"treatment periods are separated by the year 2011, when the first wave of Syrians entered Jordan, though this is not a sharp cut"off.
