Christiansen, Leighton L.2023-07-172023-07-172023https://hdl.handle.net/11299/255147Leighton Christiansen, Data Curator at the National Transportation Library (NTL), also serves as a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) representative to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) Subcommittee on Open Science (SOS). In that role, Leighton was one of the nearly 50 federal employees who co-authored the “Desirable Characteristics.” Leighton will give a brief overview on the creation of the “Desirable Characteristics” and then turn to how it will be used at DOT and with contracted researchers to inform research data preservation practices.
