Gum, 1978.The purpose of this study is. to determine if a relationship exists between children's self-concept and their language skills. Selfconcept will be measured by administering the Piers-Harris Self Concept Scale to three classrooms of sixth grade students (60 pupils) at an elementary school in Wisconsin. Language skills will be measured by administering the stanford Achievement Test (Tests one, two, three, seven and eight) to the same 60 students.
