Jacobs, Lawrence R.2020-09-182020-09-182007-04-02https://hdl.handle.net/11299/216245The Center for the Study of Politics and Governance hosted a series of public talks by prominent government leaders as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering informed and substantive discussion on important matters of public policy. Connecting with Government will allow Minnesota's elected officials the opportunity to rise above the talking points and fractious back-and-forth of the legislative process to make substantive statements about issues of importance for Minnesotans. It also creates a forum for students and citizens to listen and raise questions with their elected officials. Amy Klobuchar is the junior United States Senator from Minnesota, elected to the Senate in 2006. From 1998 to 2006 she served as the chief prosecutor for Hennepin County, the most populous county in Minnesota, and managed an office of nearly 400 employees. Prior to her election as Hennepin County Attorney, Klobuchar worked in private law practice. She has served in leadership positions with a number of community organizations, including Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Campfire; and PACER, and in 1996 was recognized by CityBusiness as one of Minnesota’s leading young business and community leaders. Klobuchar holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Chicago Law School.enAmy KlobucharConnecting with Government: Public Forums with Minnesota's Elected Officials with Senator Amy KlobucharPresentation
