Students enrolled in DES 33312021-03-042021-03-042020https://hdl.handle.net/11299/218996Report completed by students enrolled in DES 3331: Street Life and Urban Design Seminar, taught by Professor Satoko Muratake in Fall 2020.This project was completed as part of a partnership between CapitolRiver District Council and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). The goal of this project was to create wayfinding design concepts for Downtown Saint Paul that can contribute to vibrant and connected communities, activated streetscapes, and economic vibrancy. CapitolRiver District Council project lead Jon Fure collaborated with students in Professor Satoko Muratake’s course, DES 3331: Street Life and Urban Design Seminar, to conduct a site analysis and observe the physical conditions of the CapitolRiver District study area; identify issues, constraints, opportunities, and relevant precedents; and develop final design concepts. A final student presentation is available. A videorecording of the students' final presentation is also available at https://vimeo.com/493908752.enlocal governmentsustainabilityResilient Communities Project, 2020-2021Designing a Wayfinding System in Downtown Saint PaulPresentation
