Jacobs, Lawrence R.2021-02-252021-02-252017-04-18https://hdl.handle.net/11299/218759Every year approximately 250,000 men and women end their military service and rejoin communities across America, adding to a network of over 21 million veterans in the United States. Unfortunately, press portrayals too often focus on the challenges facing some vets who are homeless or afflicted by post-traumatic stress disorder, suicide, and drug addiction. Join us for a revealing conversation about the civic contributions of veterans with Janaia Deshields (Vice President of Veterans and Military Programs at Points of Light), and a panel of service members. This event will be moderated by Kate Cimino. Panel Brigadier General Sandra Best Janaia Deshields, Vice President of Veterans and Military Programs, Points of Light Colonel Doug Simon, Professor, Political Science Department, Southwest Minnesota State University Moderator Kate Cimino, Assistant Director, Center for the Study of Politics and Governance CSPG events are free and open to the public.
