Aerial photos from seven individual years in that time period – 1983, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2001 and 2004 – were digitized, orthorectified and used as a thematic reference to create a threeclass representation (wild rice, other vegetation, and open water) of lake vegetation in a geographic information system (GIS) for each of the years analyzed. To create a spatial analysis of the wild rice and ‘other vegetation’ distribution over the entire time period, data from all the years were combined to produce a composite map.en-USwild rice mappingwildlife refugeRice Lake National Wildlife Refuge : historic wild rice mapping (1983 – 2004)Report
