In the recent years many exception handling techniques have been proposed and developed for object-oriented systems, but there are many challenging problems that still exist. These are caused by complexity of design and analysis of exception handling code, not addressing exception handling at appropriate levels of system development, and lack of appropriate mechanismssuitable for specific application domains and design paradigms. This report contains a collection of papers addressing these problems. These papers were selected for presentation and discussion at the ECOOP 2003 Workshop on Exception Handling in Object Oriented Systems, with specificfocus on the challenging problems in this field in the context of emerging applications and technologies.en-USReport
