Filename: Intensity Matching-raw data.csv Short description: Intensity rating measurements from a 150mm line scale B. Filename: Intensity Matching-raw data-retest.csv Short description: Intensity rating measurements from a 150mm line scale C. Filename: Intensity Matching-raw data-new recruits.csv Short description: Intensity rating measurements from a 150mm line scale D. Filename: Omission Testing-all sessions-raw data.csv Short description: Yes/No responses to A-Not-A tests 2. Relationship between files: File A is the intensity matching raw data for the first group of participants. File B is the intensity matching raw data for participants in the first group who needed to be retested using a wider range of concentrations. File C is the intensity matching raw data for a second group of participants using the wider range of concentrations (used in File B). File D is the omission testing raw data for the group of participants who were not screened out during intensity matching. This file contains participants from both groups. 3. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: 4. Are there multiple versions of the dataset? no -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: This research was conducted in two phases. For the first phase, intensity matching, we presented each participant with a standard (5ppm acetylpropionyl) and 10 samples of one compound. The 10 samples consisted of two each of five different concentrations of the compound. We instructed the participants to rate the intensity of each sample compared to that of the standard by placing a mark on a 150 mm line scale with endpoints labeled “Much less intense” and “Much more intense” and the center labeled “Same intensity as standard”. The data files contain the intensity ratings(mm) taken from the line scale. For the second phase, omission testing, Each participant (N=18) evaluated 20 samples in each of 20 sessions using A-Not-A tests. The data files contain the A-Not-A responses for each sample. 2. Methods for processing the data: The intensity matching data files contain the measurement (mm) of the distance from the left most point on the 150mm line scale to the mark placed by the participant. 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: none 4. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: none 5. Environmental/experimental conditions: 6.
