Description
MEDA’s mission is to help entrepreneurs of color succeed through consulting, access to capital through loans and loan packaging, and access to market opportunities through corporate and government connections and expertise. Industry cluster analysis has been done to assess our regional economic competitiveness and determine the economic strengths within such industries. The formation and growth of minority owned business has not been studied in the same way. Information on industry clusters and identification of potential synergies within these identified clusters will provide valuable data for targeting MEDA services. A student research assistant is needed to identify industry clusters and research opportunities within and between clusters to create new connections to customers. The results will be used to help MEDA create new relationships between minority business enterprises (MBEs) and their majority customers or potential customers. This will open new markets for increased revenues, profitability and job creation.
