Abstract
County fairs are one of Minnesota's major summer attractions. They range on a scale from very small local events to several of regional and statewide significance. In an attempt to posture and develop county fairs as major visitor attractions, a survey of 1985 county fairs in Minnesota was conducted by a Tourism Management and Development Center intern. The survey was directed toward identifying the nature of each county fair in the State in terms of its theme, special events, unique aspects and attendance. The survey also collected fair information such as the date of fair, contact person, telephone, addresses, and booth application process. In the spring of 1986, a Tourism Office intern began an update survey of the previous year's manual to reflect any changes the fairs had udergone and to keep all the information up to date for the various users of the manual. Presentation of the data collected is presented alphabetically by county. Only those responding to the survey are listed.
